On this day in 1936, Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell was published. Supposedly, its sales are only second to the Bible. It’s one of my favorite books. I’ve read it more times than I can count. And the movie is still my all-time favorite.

The last remaining cast member is Olivia de Havilland who played sweet Melanie Hamilton Wilkes. She celebrates her 100th birthday tomorrow, July 1.
